“Crimes and Misdemeanors” in IP Cases
Arent Fox partner Steven Kimelman will be speaking at the Intellectual Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association's 2008 Annual Meeting in January. His presentation is entitled, "Crimes and Misdemeanors in IP Cases."
He will discuss the use of white collar and criminal concepts, such as aiding and abetting, in intellectual property cases. He will also address elements of the criminal law framework that can be used to combat IP offenses, and how to implement those concepts as tools in civil cases against direct infringers and third-parties who can be held civilly liable for the IP violations of others.
