Arent Fox’s Health Care Practice Group to Present at the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of New York State 31st Annual Interdisciplinary Seminar
Arent Fox attorneys Connie Raffa, Rachel Hold-Weiss, and Annie Miyazaki will be speaking at the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of New York State 31st Annual Interdisciplinary Seminar and Meeting.
Connie Raffa will be speaking on “Palliative Care & the Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010.” The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 contain provisions which profoundly impact how health care is provided. The ACA sets up new guidelines for palliative care providers under Medicare. Connie’s presentation will explore how the new health care reform laws impact service provision in the field of palliative care.
Rachel Hold-Weiss will be speaking on “Hospice/Nursing Home Partnership in Caring for the Terminally Ill Patient.” This presentation will provide an in-depth examination of the barriers and collaboration issues impacting the provision of hospice and palliative care to nursing home residents from a regulatory, compliance and quality of care perspective.
Annie Miyazaki will be speaking on “HIPAA & HITECH: What You Need to Know and Why” and will describe HIPAA’s objectives and mandates and identify HITECH’s key provisions, how HITECH modified HIPAA, and how to change compliance accordingly.
