Round-table Discussion to Explore Effects of Hospital Closure Commission Findings
A round-table discussion about the ramifications of the upcoming recommendations of the New York State Hospital Closure Commission, featuring representatives of the Medical Society of the State of New York, the Greater New York Hospital Association, noted health care attorneys and elected officials. Program will include an overview of applicable laws and regulations, explore the potential effects of hospital bankruptcies and provide an overview of physician and provider rights, potential remedies and strategic options.
Background: The Hospital Closure Commission is currently conducting an independent review of health care capacity and resources in New York State. The commission will make recommendations at the end of 2006 to “reconfigure and right-size” the supply of hospitals and nursing homes in New York.
