NEW YORK - Fordham University School of Law has honored Arent Fox Litigation partner Michael Cryan with its 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award. The award is given each year to an alumni who demonstrates commitment to Fordham Law's Moot Court Board.

A 1995 Fordham Law graduate, Mr. Cryan was a member of the board from 1993 to 1995 and, in his third year, was part of the team that won the 45th Annual National Moot Court Competition. Since his graduation, Mr. Cryan has helped to select new members of the board and prepare Fordham Moot Court teams for competition.

"While I was a student, I remembered how much we appreciated it when sitting judges and practicing attorneys took the time to conduct moot court sessions with us," Mr. Cryan said. He noted that he, as well as judges and other alumni "put the students through their paces" during practice sessions, providing critiques on the students demeanor, quality of their arguments and their ability to respond to the judges.
