Arent Fox’s Ross Buntrock Quoted in Corporate Counsel Discussing FTC’s New Recommendations for Mobile App Developers

Arent Fox’s Ross Buntrock, practice group leader of the firm’s telecommunications practice, was quoted in the Corporate Counsel article “Mobile Phone and Tablet Users Getting Smart About App Privacy.” The article discusses the Federal Trade Commission’s new privacy and advertising recommendations for mobile app developers, but does not include new requirements for app developers. “Think of the FTC document’s nine bullet points on truthful advertising and privacy as ‘kind of a friendly reminder,’” explains Ross. “It’s the FTC’s way of telling app developers, ‘You’re within our bailiwick, and you should know it.’”
