Arent Fox Partner Thor Hearne Quoted in The New York Times
Arent Fox partner Thor Hearne was quoted in the October 3, 2011 edition of The New York Times in an article about PPL Montana, Inc. v. State of Montana, a case which is scheduled to be argued before the US Supreme Court on December 7. Arguing that a 2010 decision by the Montana Supreme Court "unduly assaulted" property rights Montana farmers and ranchers have owned and enjoyed for more than a century, last month Arent Fox LLP filed an amici curiae brief with the Supreme Court on behalf of the Montana Farm Bureau Federation, asking the justices to reverse the state high court's decision. The Cato Institute, the American Farm Bureau Federation, and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Small Business Legal Center joined the Montana Farm Bureau Federation on the brief.
