Washington, DC – Arent Fox’s Arnie Schwartzman, a senior advisor in the corporate group, has been elected to join ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s 2011 ALSAC Leadership Council. The ALSAC Leadership Council is a new high-level group of distinguished supporters who serve as ambassadors for St. Jude in communities throughout the country. In this ambassador role, Mr. Schwartzman will work to promote public awareness, initiate philanthropic support for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and attend the ALSAC Leadership Council meeting at the organization’s headquarters in Memphis, TN, to discuss both national and regional programs, in addition to brainstorming new opportunities to help expand the organization.

ALSAC/St. Jude, the fundraising organization of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, is one of the largest health care charities in America and raises money solely to support St. Jude. The organization works to lift spirits and help save children’s lives by advancing cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family's ability to pay.

Mr. Schwartzman is actively involved in many community and charitable pursuits. Among his charitable efforts, Mr. Schwartzman is a honorary member of the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, Chairman of Covenant Manor, Inc., and the founding trustee of the Ronald McDonald House in Dayton, Ohio. His true passion stems from his involvement with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by acting as a general spokesperson for the hospital and by focusing his efforts on fundraising for the cause.
