June 21, 2010 - Arent Fox partner Lowell Brown, who heads the Firm’s Health Care Practice Group, was interviewed by the National Law Journal to discuss the impact of national health care reform on Washington, DC, law firms.

‘Lowell Brown, a Los Angeles partner at Arent Fox who heads the firm's health care practice, said he has seen three requests for proposals for legal services from hospital systems since the law passed in March. "Companies are going out to law firms and saying 'OK, we realize we're going to have to gear up and increase our use of outside counsel, so please submit a proposal to us as how you would handle our work,'" he said. Brown said the firm is hearing from existing clients, too. For instance, he said, Scripps Health, a San Diego-based health system that includes five hospitals, has asked the firm to help it weigh strategies for allying with other physicians and providers in light of the accountable care provisions.’
