Arent Fox Announces 2010 Mentors of the Year
Arent Fox’s Professional Development Committee has honored four partners, including Quana C. Jew, Eugene R. Scheiman, D. Jacques Smith, and Michael L. Turrill, as 2010 Mentors of the Year. This inaugural award is intended to celebrate the dedication of the firm’s partners and counsel to advising and cultivating associate talent. These exceptional partners were recognized for displaying a creative, proactive approach to the mentoring role. The firm will honor another group of mentors with this recognition at the conclusion of 2011.
The objective of Arent Fox’s lawyer mentor program is to maximize the career development of the firm’s associates through guidance, support and training. Arent Fox recently restructured its mentor program by integrating mentoring efforts with associate development and evaluation, and by providing specific focus areas based on associate class level. Associates are encouraged to choose their mentors and can request reassignments at any time. Informal mentoring and the development of mentoring networks are also fostered.
