Arent Fox Expands Construction Practice with Addition of McCarter & English Group

    NEW YORK – March 30, 2007– Arent Fox LLP is pleased to announce the addition of four new partners to the construction group in its New York office. Joining the firm are James E. Frankel, Eugene R. Scheiman, Mark A. Bloom and Andrew Ross, all formerly partners at McCarter & English LLP. Their arrival adds further depth to a construction team experienced in both litigation and project transactions for owners, developers, architects, engineers and contractors.

    The group will join existing partners Aaron Abraham and David Pfeffer, who are recognized by Chambers and Partners as leading New York construction attorneys.

    The Arent Fox construction team represents owners, developers, contractors, architect-engineers and designers in a broad range of projects, including agreements for construction projects and complex legal structures involving public and private financing partnerships, as well as the prosecution and defense of construction claims.

    James E. Frankel provides business advisory services, including sales and acquisitions and internal ownership transition of design and construction firms. He also advises clients concerning front-end project structuring and contractual terms and conditions as well as dispute resolution in contentious situations on behalf of the owners, architects, engineers and construction companies.

    Eugene R. Scheiman offers a wide range of litigation, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and business advisory services to clients in the construction industry and franchise arena. He also brings 30 years of litigation experience to many areas of publishing, general commercial and white-collar criminal law.

    Mark A. Bloom provides litigation, ADR and transactional services to clients in the construction industry, including owners, developers, construction managers, contractors and design professionals. Mark also maintains a franchise and distribution practice through which he counsels companies in litigation, transactional and regulatory matters involving uniform disclosures, franchise agreements and business operations.

    Andrew Ross provides transactional, regulatory and corporate services for construction industry clients. He represents construction project owners and developers, architects, engineers, project managers, construction managers and contractors in connection with public and private construction projects, sales and acquisitions of construction industry firms, and licensing issues for architects, engineers and landscape architects.
