Arent Fox LLP Announces 2009 Promotions
WASHINGTON, DC — January 6, 2009 — Arent Fox LLP — a full-service law firm with offices in Washington, DC, New York City and Los Angeles — has announced promotions of seven (7) lawyers at the firm.

Adam Resnick (Washington, DC)
Sarah Benator, 34, is a partner in the health care group at Arent Fox’s Los Angeles office. Sarah advises a broad range of health care clients, including hospitals, health systems, long-term care facilities, medical groups, and durable medical equipment suppliers in regulatory, operational and medico-legal matters. She counsels health care organizations on peer review matters, practitioner credentialing, disciplinary hearings, state licensing, Medicare certification, Joint Commission accreditation, medical staff bylaws, EMTALA (the federal law prohibiting “patient-dumping”), governing body bylaws, bioethics, medical records, and consent and confidentiality. Sarah is on the board of directors for the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys and is chair of its Publications Committee, as well as editor-in-chief of the California Health Law News. She also co-chairs the Education and New Projects Committee for the Los Angeles Pro Bono Council. Sarah received her law degree from the University of California- Berkeley in 1999 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 1996.
Randall Brater, 33, is a partner in the litigation group at Arent Fox's Washington, DC office. His practice involves litigating matters in both state and federal courts, from preliminary injunctions to motions practice to jury and bench trials, as well as arbitrations and mediation. Randy has experience in numerous areas, including media, entertainment, and intellectual property law, commercial, real estate, and environmental litigation, employment, trade secret, and competition law, and health care and civil False Claims Act matters. Randy is also committed to pro bono activities. He has served as the coordinator for the Arent Fox volunteer intake program at the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia and as a co- chair of Legal Aid’s Generous Associates Campaign for several years. Randy received his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 2000 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in 1997.
Eve Corbin, 35, is a partner in the finance group at Arent Fox’s Washington, DC, office. Her practice focuses on municipal finance and commercial real estate. She has participated in transactions in the areas of housing, health care, nonprofit and educational facilities. She has extensive experience drafting offering documents and commercial leases as well as forming limited liability companies and corporations. Eve’s clients include nonprofit borrowers, lenders, credit enhancers, developers and publicly held real estate investment trusts. Her recent experience includes representing a major nonprofit medical institute in the $500 million tax-exempt financing of its research facility; serving as counsel to a well-known performing arts center in connection with the tax-exempt financing of its high-tech educational facilities; and representing high-profile environmental organizations in the acquisition and redevelopment of their headquarters. Eve is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers. She received her law degree from the University of Michigan in 1999 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in 1994.
Leah Eisenberg, 33, is a partner in the bankruptcy and financial restructuring group. She is resident in the New York office of Arent Fox. Leah focuses on corporate reorganization and restructuring and bankruptcy matters and frequently represents committees of unsecured creditors, indenture trustees, bondholders, secured creditors, acquirers, and investors in distressed or bankrupt companies, as well as creditor trustees, liquidation trustees, plan administrators and disbursing agents in bankruptcy proceedings. Leah has been privileged to work in high-profile bankruptcy proceedings in such industries as telecommunications, Internet and technology, integrated communications providers, insurance companies, marketing, metals manufacturing, national restaurant chains and franchises and real estate. Leah received her law degree from the Brooklyn Law School in 2000 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Binghamton University in 1997. Before entering private practice, Leah served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert E. Gerber, US Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York (2000-2001).
Ricardo Fischer, 39, is a partner in the intellectual property and international business groups in Washington, DC. Ricardo has experience representing clients in a wide array of matters including protection, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights, complex unfair competition disputes and advertisement and labeling compliance. He has represented many corporations in Latin America in matters relating to cross-border mergers & acquisitions, IP acquisition, protection, licensing & enforcement, foreign investment regulations and registration, antitrust, litigation & regulatory compliance. Ricardo received his law degree in Venezuela in 1991 and has a Masters degree in Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1993.
Christopher Norton, 37, is a partner in the intellectual property group in Washington, DC. Chris’ practice focuses on domestic and global brand development and protection. He prepares and prosecutes trademark applications, represents clients before the US Patent and Trademark Office in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, prepares brand availability opinions and license agreements, counsels clients on trademark disputes and enforcement, trains in-house brand management teams, and works with Arent Fox’s intellectual property litigators at all stages of litigation and dispute resolution. Chris helped develop the Arent Fox BrandArmada® service, which is an innovative and cost-effective, team-based approach for managing and protecting large international trademark portfolios. Chris received his law degree from the UCLA School of Law in 2001 and his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University in 1993.
Adam Resnick, 37, is a counsel in the intellectual property group at Arent Fox’s Washington, DC office. He focuses his practice in the areas of trademark and copyright law. Adam counsels clients with regard to the selection, adoption and use of trademarks and trade dress; the domestic and international registration of trademarks and copyrights; and the enforcement, licensing and sale of intellectual property in the United States. Adam’s practice also involves clearing trademarks, preparing and prosecuting US trademark applications, and coordinating foreign trademark searches and applications. He also assists in litigation matters in the federal courts, as well as inter partes matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and has drafted and negotiated a variety of agreements dealing with trademark and copyright interests. Adam also has experience in combating software piracy and spam, as well as open source software matters. Adam received his law degree from the University of Baltimore Law School in 1998 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University in 1993.
