Arent Fox LLP Named a Finalist for 2011 Turnaround Atlas Awards
LOS ANGELES – May 16, 2011 – Arent Fox LLP has been named a Finalist for the Global M&A Network’s annual Turnaround Atlas Awards, which honors achievements from the special situation M&A, restructurings, and turnaround communities. Arent Fox was nominated for its work on behalf of The Walking Company in helping the national footwear retail chain successfully emerge from bankruptcy.
The nomination for the 2011 Turnaround Atlas Award is the latest recognition for Arent Fox’s success in restructuring of The Walking Company. In March, The M&A Advisor presented Arent Fox with the Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year (Lower Middle Market) award for its work on behalf of the footwear retail chain. Additionally, the Daily Journal – California’s leading legal publication – called Arent Fox’s efforts on behalf The Walking Company one of 2010’s “innovations.”
The Walking Company’s successful reorganization was headed by Arent Fox partner Mette Kurth with assistance from Aram Ordubegian, Douglas Flahaut, Andy Kong, and Katie Lane. Joseph Rieser provided invaluable tax advice related to the restructuring, and the team was also supported by Arent Fox’s corporate practice group.
The winners will be announced June 16 at the Turnaround Atlas Awards Gala in Chicago.
