Arent Fox Partner Deborah Froling Takes Office as President of the National Association of Women Lawyers
Washington, DC — On July 25, Deborah S. Froling, a partner in Arent Fox LLP’s Corporate & Securities and Real Estate practices, began serving as president of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL). Founded in 1899, NAWL is a national voluntary legal professional organization devoted to promoting the interests and progress of women lawyers and women’s legal rights. For the past year, Ms. Froling has served as president-elect of NAWL.
Ms. Froling focuses her practice on public and private offerings of debt, equity, and convertible securities as both the issuer’s and underwriter’s counsel primarily for real estate companies. She also has extensive experience in the non-traded REIT, equipment leasing industry, and the tenant in common syndication industry.
Ms. Froling was previously honored by NAWL in 2009 with the Special Recognition Award for her commitment to advancing the role of women in the legal profession. At Arent Fox, she co-chairs AFWomen, a Leadership Development Initiative that facilitates mentoring and training programs for women lawyers. Additionally, Ms. Froling is a member of the board of the Real Estate Investment Securities Association and serves as chair of its Legislative & Regulatory Committee. In 2010, she received REISA’s Distinguished Service Award.
Through its programs and networks, NAWL provides the tools for women in the profession to advance, prosper, and enrich the profession by continuing to serve as an educational forum and as a leading voice for women in and under the law.
