On Thursday, June 26, Arent Fox partner Keith Marino appeared on the XM Satellite Radio program Baseball This Morning with hosts Mark Patrick and Baltimore Orioles broadcaster Buck Martinez to discuss the increasing problem of bats made of maple shattering during Major League Baseball games.

Maple bats have been shattering with alarming regularity this season, posing a danger to players, umpires and fans. The problem has become so prevalent that MLB's safety and health advisory committee has begun discussions that could lead to more stringent qualifications for companies seeking approval to make major league bats.

In the course of the 10-minute interview, Keith talked about how baseball may deal with this issue in the coming months and what role Arent Fox client, B45 Inc., which manufactures bats made of yellow birch, can play in addressing the problem.
