Mike Turrill LOS ANGELES – On January 1, 2012, Arent Fox’s Michael Turrill, a partner in the litigation department, assumed office as President of the Irish American Bar Association (IABA), Los Angeles Chapter, for a one-year term.

“I am very honored to serve as President of the Irish American Bar Association,” said Michael. “I look forward to an exciting and productive year ahead as the association moves forward with its commitment to increasing appreciation and awareness of Irish history and culture through professional, social, and cultural activities in the broader Los Angeles legal community.”

One of the IABA’s most successful programs is the Irish Law Student Judicial Extern Program, by which each year several students from Ireland’s top law schools travel to Los Angeles to serve as summer clerks to federal and state judges. “It is a fantastic program that allows some of the brightest young legal minds in Ireland to come to the United States and learn about the American legal system through real-world work experience in the courtroom.”

The Los Angeles chapter of The Irish American Bar Association is one of the largest in the country.
