Debra Albin-Riley Joins Arent Fox’s Litigation Practice In Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES – JUNE 4, 2008 – Arent Fox is proud to announce that Debra Albin-Riley has joined the firm’s the litigation group as a partner in its Los Angeles office.
Albin-Riley, 49, has two decades of trial experience, often serving as a key member of national trial teams representing business entities in complex commercial litigation, products liability cases and class actions. She has defended numerous consumer class actions and her experience also includes the successful handling of motion picture, television and video distribution cases, copyright and trademark infringement actions, and licensing, patent, environmental and real estate disputes.
Albin-Riley comes to Arent Fox from the Los Angeles office of Winston & Strawn LLP, where she was a partner in the litigation department. She was listed as one of Lawdragon Magazine’s “Top 500 Leading Litigators in America of 2006,” and Los Angeles Magazine has repeatedly named her one of its “Super Lawyers.” She is the past chair of the Litigation Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
“Debra is an extraordinarily talented and skilled attorney with a remarkable depth and breadth of experience, having served as the key member of national trial defense teams in a number of product liability suits,” said Robert C. O’Brien, partner-in-charge of Arent Fox’s Los Angeles office. “The addition of Debra to Arent Fox’s Los Angeles office expands the firm’s nationally recognized litigation capabilities on the West Coast and, more importantly, enhances our capability to serve our clients,” O’Brien said.
Arent Fox chairman Marc Fleischaker agreed, saying, “We are very pleased to have Debra with us. Her decision to join us is yet another indication that Arent Fox Los Angeles has established a significant presence in the Southern California legal community.”
Starting with nine lawyers in January 2007, the Los Angeles office has grown to 27 attorneys – including lateral partners and new associates – and 22 staff members. In December 2007, because of the firm’s rapid growth, Arent Fox Los Angeles relocated to the city’s prestigious Gas Company Tower located at 555 West 5th Street, leasing more than triple the office space occupied by the firm at its former address.
Albin-Riley earned her JD from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1983 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in 1980.
