    October 15, 2012

LOS ANGELES – Four partners in Arent Fox’s Los Angeles office have been recognized for outstanding work by Super Lawyers® in the 2012 Top Women Attorneys in Southern California list. They include Debra Albin-Riley for business litigation, Mary Carter Andrues for white collar criminal defense, Carla Feldman for labor and employment and Mette Kurth for bankruptcy and creditors rights. Ms. Feldman was further ranked among The Top 50 Women in Southern California.

“We are proud that our women attorneys have been recognized for the exceptional service they provide to their clients in diverse areas of law,” said Robert C. O’Brien, managing partner of Arent Fox’s Los Angeles office. “In addition to their dedication to client matters, they also serve as wonderful role models and mentors to young people in the early stages of their legal careers.”

Ms. Albin-Riley has represented clients throughout the US and delivered exceptional results in cases of national significance in California, Texas and Illinois. Her practice focuses on complex multi-party litigation, including complicated health care matters, sophisticated contract disputes, class actions, consumer fraud, product liability and eminent domain cases. Her ability to quickly assess key issues and devise winning strategies in multifaceted cases has made her an invaluable member of the firm’s trial team. This is the eighth year Ms. Albin-Riley has been named a Super Lawyer.

A former federal prosecutor with more than 14 years of trial experience, Ms. Carter Andrues’ practice is focused on white collar criminal defense. Her experience enables her to provide innovative defense strategies in sensitive high-profile cases ranging from the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act and public corruption matters to internal corporate investigations and health care fraud and abuse as well as international and domestic regulatory compliance and enforcement. She has a demonstrated track record dealing with federal, state and local government investigations and prosecutions and has extensive trial experience, vigorously defending her clients, and often resolving matters swiftly and quietly.

A labor and employment attorney with more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Feldman has established an impressive track record of success at trial (more than 100), in arbitration and settlements to achieve favorable outcomes for her clients. She focuses on single and multiple-plaintiff lawsuits and litigation avoidance strategies involving federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) claims and California wage and hour cases. Adept at defeating class certification in class and collective actions, she has also been a recipient of the Super Lawyer award for the past 10 consecutive years.

Widely recognized for her outstanding bankruptcy and restructuring work and her innovative style, Ms. Kurth has established a remarkable track record of success. Whether representing debtors, creditor committees, or purchasers, she creates a solutions-oriented approach based on the individual facts of the case to quickly close the deal—at times using a partnering approach, or, when necessary, an adversarial one. Named a Super Lawyer for the past four years, Ms. Kurth also was recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Women Lawyers in California in 2011 and 2012, and in US News & World Report’s Best Lawyers rankings in 2010 and 2011. She currently serves on the Turnaround Management Association’s National Board of Directors.
