Les Jacobowitz Joins Arent Fox LLP as Partner in New York Real Estate Practice

    NEW YORK CITYOCTOBER 13, 2008 – Arent Fox LLP today announced that Les Jacobowitz has joined its New York office as a partner in the firm’s real estate and finance practices. Mr. Jacobowitz, 49, has more than 20 years of experience representing a broad range of issuers, underwriters and financial institutions in domestic and international transactions involving $20 billion or more. Prior to joining Arent Fox, he had been a partner in the finance and real estate group at Dechert LLP.

    Mr. Jacobowitz’s move to Arent Fox comes on the heels of a summer that saw a major expansion of the firm’s New York office with the addition of six new partners to the firm’s corporate, international business, litigation, and labor and employment groups.

    Mr. Jacobowitz has represented clients in diverse transactions involving economic development, nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living and AIDS facilities, airports, university and student loans, multi-family and single family housing, homeless facilities, stadiums, infrastructure, privatization, and energy and utility.

    In the structured finance area, Mr. Jacobowitz works with clients in securitizing new asset classes, including the formation of a trust certificate program securitized by low-income housing bonds and establishing the first short-term option certificate program secured by outstanding debt. He also focuses in the workout area, assisting clients in all finance and real estate matters involving the bankruptcy, restructuring and sale of various companies and projects.

    Mr. Jacobowitz is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law and earned an MBA at UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management. He did his undergraduate work at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a BS. He is admitted to both the New York and District of Columbia bars.
