Ralph Taylor Joins Arent Fox Intellectual Property Practice

    April 4, 2005

WASHINGTON—April 4, 2005— Arent Fox is pleased to announce that Ralph A. Taylor Jr. has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Group as partner in the Washington, D.C. office.

Mr. Taylor, 57, has extensive experience in intellectual property, technology, employment, and complex commercial, tax and antitrust litigation. He has represented national and international companies in matters such as products liability, breach of software licenses, unfair competition, and software copyright, patent and trademark infringements. His practice also includes litigation risk-management counseling.

Before joining Arent Fox, Mr. Taylor was a partner and the chair of the intellectual property litigation group at Dorsey & Whitney. His legal writings have appeared in publications such as The Licensing Journal, International Technology Transfers and Litigation News, of which he was, until August 2004, executive editor.

He received a B.S.E. in electrical engineering from Princeton University in 1970 and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1975.

Mr. Taylor is the latest addition to Arent Fox’s thriving intellectual property practice. During the past eight years, the number of intellectual property lawyers at the firm has grown from one to 60.

As a result, Arent Fox has designated this practice area as a core engine in its strategic plan. The growth has been attained by selectively attracting experienced lateral partners with established patent, trademark and copyright practices.
