MARCH 4, 2009 – LOS ANGELES – Arent Fox LLP announced today that Thomas E. Jeffry Jr. has joined the firm’s health care practice as a partner in its Los Angeles office. Mr. Jeffry, 51, has extensive experience in life sciences and health care law, representing clients in a wide variety of matters including those involving: compliance programs; corporate integrity agreements; fraud and abuse issues; corporate governance; representation before institutional review boards; corporate mergers and reorganizations; health privacy and information technology; tax and antitrust issues related to integrated delivery systems; and finance, development and construction of health facilities.

The addition of Mr. Jeffry to the firm is the latest development in the rapid growth of Arent Fox’s Los Angeles office, which was launched on January 1, 2007, when Washington, DC-based Arent Fox and Los Angeles-based litigation boutique O’Brien Abeles LLP combined their firms. 

Starting with nine lawyers in January 2007, the Los Angeles office has grown to nearly 30 attorneys – including lateral partners and new associates – and more than 20 staff members. In December 2007, because of the firm's rapid growth, Arent Fox Los Angeles relocated to the city's prestigious Gas Company Tower located at 555 West 5th Street, leasing more than triple the office space occupied by the firm at its former address.

Mr. Jeffry is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Health Care Compliance Association and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Jeffry earned his JD degree at the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific. He holds a BS in Journalism from Northwestern University.
