Crystal works on a wide range of intellectual property matters, focusing on patent litigation before the federal courts and the International Trade Commission. Crystal is also a member of the Government Relations Group. As a registered lobbyist, Crystal represents more than 1000 landowners in more than 20 states whose properties were taken pursuant to the federal National Trails System Act. Previous Work During law school, Crystal served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Irene M. Keeley, US District Court of the Northern District of West Virginia. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Robert B. King, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Prior to law school, Crystal interned for Senator Ted Kennedy’s Judiciary Committee Office. Professional Activities Crystal is a lifetime member of the international service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. Publications, Presentations and Recognitions Crystal was a research editor for the West Virginia Law Review and published an article titled “Opportunistic Evolution: How State Legislation is Seeking to Redefine ‘Academic Freedom’ to Permit ‘Intelligent Design’ in the Classroom.” Life Beyond the Law When Crystal is not working, she enjoys long-distance running, snowboarding, professional and college sporting events, and learning to cook international cuisine. She has also studied abroad in Mexico and Hong Kong and has traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia.
