Jackie Weiss is a partner in the Real Estate Group. She represents and counsels clients in all aspects of real estate law, including representation of property owners and tenants in multi-family, commercial office, retail and industrial retail transactions throughout the country; investors, property owners, property managers and asset managers in acquisitions, sales, operation management and development transactions, including multi-disciplinary project development; lenders, investors, and property owners in joint ventures involving real estate assets; institutional lenders and borrowers in single property and multistate financing transactions, securitized loans, construction loans, and mezzanine financing transactions; and lenders, investors, and secured and unsecured creditors and creditor groups in debt restructurings, including foreclosures, bankruptcy proceedings, and debtor-in-possession financing. Jackie co-heads the firm’s leasing practice.
In the current economic environment, Jackie’s practice is increasingly focused on counseling clients as to creative and practical solutions to financial distress-related issues. She represents property owners, landlords, and tenants regarding space redeployment (or “rightsizing”) and lenders, investors, and borrowers in loan and entity-level restructurings and workouts, forbearance arrangements, and recapitalizations.
