Her litigation practice focuses on complex commercial and intellectual property matters, particularly cases involving trademark and copyright disputes. She has handled cases in various state and federal trial and appellate courts. She has participated in all phases of litigation, including the preparation of initial pleadings, fact development and electronic discovery, engagement of experts, depositions, written and oral motion practice, negotiation and drafting of settlement agreements, and mediations. Leah has also assisted clients with internal investigations. Leah’s recent work includes representing a fashion retailer in connection with claims of trademark infringement and related claims, defending a major television network in trademark opposition proceedings in the US Patent and Trademark Office, defending a major television network and a reality-show personality against allegations of trademark infringement, and defending a major television network and media company against claims of copyright infringement, RICO violations, and breach of contract. Leah has also represented a major pharmaceutical company in defending against allegations of fraud and violation of consumer protection laws, and she has represented commercial lenders in connection with breaches of contract and guaranty agreements. Leah is committed to pro bono work and has represented veterans in disability appeals before the Department of Veterans Affairs. Previous Work Before joining Arent Fox, Leah served for two years as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Mary Ellen Barbera of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals (currently sitting on the Maryland Court of Appeals).
