Mike counsels companies on competitive and regulatory issues associated with existing and emerging technology offerings. He helps ensure that new offerings comply with existing regulations, and he works to secure changes in regulation to enable improved technology and services to come to market. He also works with investors evaluating the risks and opportunities presented by market developments. Mike has particular expertise in representing companies before the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission.
Mike also serves as lead litigation counsel in cutting-edge communications matters before federal courts of appeals, federal district courts, state courts, and state public service commissions. Recent representative litigations matters have involved the Communications Act, the Federal Trade Commission Act, Telecommunications Consumer Protection Act, the Telemarketing Sales Rule, and the Do Not Call List.
Mike has drafted and negotiated technology-related agreements regarding cloud computing, collocation, distance learning, equipment purchases/leases, mobile marketing, mobile virtual network operations, network interconnection, privacy policies, software as a service, software licensing, and various forms of terms of service.
