His practice focuses on litigation involving complex business disputes, and media and entertainment disputes, particularly copyright and trademark matters. Previous Work Prior to joining Arent Fox, Michael was an associate at a boutique litigation firm where he prosecuted copyright and trademark infringement actions. He also handled numerous complex multidistrict antitrust actions involving international price fixing conspiracies. Michael served as a judicial clerk to Chief Judge Walter H. Rice of the US District Court for Southern District of Ohio; Circuit Judge Ronald Lee Gilman for the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit; and as the career judicial clerk to Judge Stephen G. Larson of the US District Court for the Central District of California. As a judicial clerk, Michael became well versed in the complex area of copyright terminations. Most notably, Michael worked on the high-profile Siegel v. Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc. case, involving the ownership of the copyright to the iconic comic superhero character Superman. Life Beyond the Law Michael enjoys gardening, doodling pictures on a notepad, boxing, listening to retro music, and especially, spending time with his wife and two children.
