Prior to joining Arent Fox, Rachel was a law clerk to the Honorable Robert A. Zarnoch of Maryland Court of Special Appeals from August 2010 through August 2011.
During law school, as part of a law school clinic, Rachel represented a criminal defendant in his direct appeal by drafting an appellate brief and presenting oral arguments on his behalf before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. She also worked as a law clerk for the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland and interned at the Maryland Public Defender’s Office, Appellate Division. Additionally, Rachel was a judicial intern for the Honorable Susan K. Gauvey of the US District Court for the District of Maryland.
Prior to law school, Rachel was an honors paralegal for the US Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, where she assisted with the prosecution of criminal civil rights violations, and helped successfully try two cases: one hate crime prosecution, and one official misconduct case. She also assisted with law enforcement raids on alleged human traffickers to rescue trafficking victims.
