Client Work Stanley’s labor and employment practice has included defending employers against single-plaintiff disputes involving wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, negligence, and intentional tort claims, as well as class action wage/hour claims, and union grievances. Stanley has successfully prosecuted breach of contract actions and obtained judgments on behalf of corporate clients. Stanley also provides counsel regarding various legal developments in both the workplace and in the entertainment and sports industries. Previous Work Prior to joining Arent Fox, Stanley was an associate in the labor and employment practice of a large international law firm. While in law school, Stanley participated in various practice clinics, through which he provided pro bono legal services to the indigent and defenseless—both legally and financially — representing children, immigrants, and the poor and destitute. He has helped homeowners defend their homes from civil forfeiture, aided deprived children in their fight to receive state aid, and assisted persecuted foreign nationals in their efforts to join their loved ones in the United States. Professional Activities Stanley is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Publications, Presentations and Recognitions While attending law school, Stanley was the alumni and public relations editor for the Journal of International Law. Life Beyond the Law Stanley is a sports fan and follows the Angels and USC Football. He enjoys skiing, traveling, motorcycles, and live music. Stanley is fluent in Portuguese.
