Stephen Thompson is an attorney in the Communications, Moble, and Technology practice group. Stephen advises various types of technology-focused clients, including competitive wireline carriers, VoIP providers, wireless carriers, and data service provider companies on legal and regulatory compliance issues relating to the Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Energy, and the Federal Trade Commission. Stephen also provides litigation support to communications clients in commercial disputes before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. In addition to his telecommunications practice, Stephen counsels clients on energy-related regulatory matters, including competitive electric and gas supplier licenses in deregulated markets as well as generation facility site compliance issues. Stephen has a particular interest in data and privacy issues and smart grid communications, both of which span the communications and energy sectors.
