Tommy Castiello is a partner in Arent Fox’s business department. His practice focuses on real estate and corporate transactions, corporate and partnership law, including complex entity structuring, and sports law. Tommy’s practice encompasses a wide variety of transactions, including:
- Representing regional and national clients in connection with all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development, construction, financing, and management of hotels, office buildings, shopping centers, multifamily apartment complexes and industrial properties.
- Representing charter schools in connection with a wide variety of matters, including acquisition, financing, and development of campus projects.
- Representing of lenders and borrowers in complex debt and equity transactions, consensual real estate workouts, restructurings, and reorganizations.
- Formation and structuring of joint ventures through corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies.
- Stock and asset purchase transactions.
- Acquisitions, dispositions, and financing of professional sports franchises and sports and entertainment facilities.

- Representing Quadrangle Development Corporation in connection with the acquisition, financing, equity structuring, and sale of office buildings, hotels and multi-family apartment buildings in the Washington metropolitan area.
- Representing The Buccini/Pollin Group in connection with the acquisition, financing, equity structuring, and sale of office buildings and hotels throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
- Representing Washington Real Estate Investment Trust in connection with the acquisition, financing, and sale of office buildings and shopping centers in the Washington metropolitan area.
- Representing AllianceBernstein in connection with the acquisition and financing of a portfolio of twenty multifamily apartment complexes located in the United States.
- Representing Edge Principal Advisors in connection with the acquisition, financing, and disposition of multifamily apartment complexes in the United States.
- Representing KIPP DC in connection with the acquisition of its Douglass and Shaw campuses, through long term ground leases with the District of Columbia, and the financing of major renovations to those campuses through separate New Market Tax Credit financing transactions.
- Representing Capital City Public Charter School in connection with the acquisition of the Rabaut campus, through a long term ground lease with the District of Columbia, and the financing of major renovations to that campus through loans from multiple lenders.
- Representing Meridian Public Charter School in connection with the acquisition of Harrison campus, through a long term ground lease with the District of Columbia, and the financing of major renovations to that campus through a New Market Tax Credit financing transaction.
- Representing Washington Sports & Entertainment Limited Partnership in connection with the financing of the Verizon Center, which is located in Washington, DC and is the home of the Washington Wizards, the Washington Capitals, the Washington Mystics, and the Georgetown Hoyas.
- Representing Washington Sports & Entertainment Limited Partnership in connection with its sale of the Washington Capitals and a minority interest in Washington Sports & Entertainment Limited Partnership.
- Representing Brooklyn Arena, LLC and the Brooklyn Nets in connection with suite licensing and the food and beverage agreement for the Barclays Center, which is located in Brooklyn, New York.
- Representing a client in connection with the acquisition of the Tampa Bay Rays.
