Rachel Hold-Weiss is a partner in the New York office of Arent Fox, where she focuses on health care regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters for a wide range of health care clients.
Client WorkRachel represents a variety of nonprofit and for-profit health care providers, including hospices, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, long-term care hospitals, assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, durable medical equipment providers and physician practices.
Rachel focuses on advising clients in fraud and abuse matters, including anti-kickback, self-referral, false claims, corporate practice of medicine and fee splitting, as well as advising clients undergoing federal and state audits and investigations, and in certificate of need, facility licensure and medical professional licensing matters, Medicare and Medicaid survey and reimbursement issues, and healthcare privacy and security matters. Rachel also assists clients with compliance audits, and the development and implementation of compliance programs.
Rachel has represented national long term care and home health companies, as well as large hospices, in ongoing regulatory and compliance matters, and regulatory and compliance matters related to complex corporate restructurings and acquisitions. Professional ActivitiesRachel is a member of the regulatory committee of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, and also performs pro bono work for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State, and the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Life Beyond the LawIn addition to being the mother of four beautiful children, Rachel is a nationally certified physician assistant licensed to practice in the state of New York. Prior to joining Arent Fox, Rachel worked as a physician assistant in both hospital and outpatient settings.
