Matt Kanna’s practice focuses on international trade litigation, specifically antidumping and countervailing duty matters before the US Department of Commerce and the US International Trade Commission. Matt has also served as counsel on disputes governed by the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Client Work

Matt has represented a wide range of clients in antidumping and countervailing duty matters, including both market economy and non-market economy proceedings. Matt currently represents numerous Asian and European based clients in active antidumping cases, including clients re-entering strategic markets covered by antidumping duty orders.

Previous Work

In 2002, Matt completed a clerkship in the cabinet of Judge Antonio Mario La Pergola, at the Cour de justice des Communautés européennes (Court of Justice of the European Communities) in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. While serving at the Cour de justice, Matt had the opportunity to work on numerous cases, including appeals of antidumping determinations imposed by the European Commission, disputes between European Union member states involving intra-EU fishing quotas, the application of the VAT Directive, and the extra-territorial effects of member state bank secrecy laws under the Treaty on European Union.
