Keith Styles is the practice group leader of Arent Fox's national Real Estate practice and a member of the firm’s Government Real Estate/Public Buildings group. He represents business entities, government agencies and individuals in complex business transactions, with a focus on project and business finance, joint ventures, complex real estate development, disposition of federal assets, private equity, public-private partnerships, nonprofits, and general business counseling.

Client Work

Keith has worked on high-profile Washington area real estate projects such as Gallery Place, Phillips Park, Georgetown Park Mall, The Asher, Tellus, and Armed Forces Retirement Home. He has represented entrepreneurs in structuring strategic alliances with Fortune 500 companies and has handled mergers and acquisitions for both sellers and purchasers in a wide range of market segments. He also has worked with the Navy and the Air Force on base closure and housing privatization matters.Keith also represents public and private charities and serves as outside general counsel to organizations working to improve the lives of the needy in America, such as Catholic Charities USA and Central Union Mission.

Previous Work

Immediately prior to joining Arent Fox, Keith was managing partner of the Washington, DC office of a national law firm. He also has served as in-house counsel for NVR, Inc., a national residential real estate builder and developer.

Professional Activities

Keith is a member of the Urban Land Institute and a member of ULI’s Public-Private Partnership Council (Gold Flight), the National Council on Public-Private Partnerships, and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association, among other professional memberships.

Life Beyond the Law

Keith is married and has two sons. He is an avid cyclist and fan of the Washington Capitals, coaches youth basketball, and enjoys traveling and following politics.
