Prior to joining Arent Fox, Paul was an associate in the Los Angeles office of a national law firm where he focused on commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense matters.

While attending law school, Paul served as an extern to the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt for the Ninth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. He also has worked for numerous government officials, including a United States Senator.

Paul has represented clients in a wide range of industries, including the sports and entertainment, real estate, automotive, software, retail and health care industries. In addition, Paul has experience representing clients in federal and state court, alternative dispute forums, and the Delaware Court of Chancery. Paul’s representative matters include:

Represented Seller of Car Dealership in Multi-Week Trial
Paul’s trial experience includes representing the seller of a car dealership in a multi-week trial, securing a favorable verdict on all causes of action in a contentious business tort and breach of contract lawsuit brought by the purchaser of the dealership.

Represented Professional Sports Team in Binding Arbitration
Represented a professional sports team in the multi-day binding arbitration of a contract dispute that secured a favorable verdict of approximately $3,000,000. 

Represented Corporate Manager Against Conspiracy Charges
Paul’s criminal defense work includes participating in all aspects of fact discovery, law and motion, and trial preparation while defending a high-level corporate manager against conspiracy charges.

Represented Real Estate Developer in Contract Dispute and Fraud Action
Represented real estate development company in an action to recover damages against investment brokers in which summary adjudication was granted prior to the settlement of all remaining causes of action. 

Represented National Retailer in Commercial Real Estate Dispute
Represented an independently-owned national retail company in a dispute with a commercial landlord.  Paul successfully opposed a motion for summary judgment and prepared for trial prior to settlement.

Represented Clients in Employment Class Actions
Represented an internationally-renowned clothing retailer and a prominent Southern California automotive group against wage and hour claims in various class action lawsuits.  Paul helped to settle the matters prior to class certification.

Additionally, Paul has helped to resolve matters for clients at various stages of an array of commercial litigation matters, including matters related to California’s unfair competition laws, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”), the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, and the Automobile Sales and Finance Act.  He has also represented various individuals in white collar defense and litigation matters, including asset forfeitures and extradition matters.
