Prior to joining Arent Fox, Lew was an associate with a boutique Southern California law firm and has worked as a patent attorney involving patent prosecution in software, electrical, and mechanical arts. He has counseled clients in technical areas including wireless communications (CDMA, GSM/GPRS, WCDMA, LTE, ATSC-MH), medical devices, mobile handheld digital television signaling, microprocessors, software, and mechanical devices.

He has worked with a range of clients including clients based in South Korea where he traveled to handle patent prosecution matters and conducted workshops.

While attending law school, Lew earned a certification in intellectual property law and was a member of the Moot Court Honors Board and the Whittier Law Review.
