Elizabeth worked as a summer associate at Arent Fox prior to becoming an associate at Arent Fox. She was also a recipient of Arent Fox’s Diversity Scholarship in 2009.

During law school, Elizabeth gained legal experience as a mediator with the Fulton County Landlord-Tenant Mediation Program, an intern for GA Supreme Court Justice Robert Benham, and a student attorney in the Barton Juvenile Defender Clinic. She received a Dean’s Award for outstanding academic achievement in the clinic.

Before law school, Elizabeth worked as a New York City public school teacher, a college counselor, and a paralegal.

During law school, Elizabeth served as Managing Editor and Symposium Editor of the Southern Region Black Law Students Association Law Journal.

Elizabeth was a member of Emory’s Mock Trial Society where her team advanced to the semi-finals of the AAJ Regional Competition. She coached the Emory team that won first place in the William W. Daniel National Invitational Mock Trial Competition and another team that placed in the quarter-finals of the SRBLA Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition.

Elizabeth was selected by professors and administrators to receive Emory Law’s Robert Beynart Award for Professionalism & Ethics and the Class of 1953 3L Award. Upon graduation, she was elected to the Order of Barristers for her achievements in Mock Trial and received a Pro Bono Medal for completing more than 100 hours of pro bono work during her law school career. She was also awarded the Just the Beginning Foundation Judge Constance Baker Motley Fellowship, NAACP Legal Defense Fund Earl Warren Civil Rights Training Award, and American Association for Justice Richard D. Hailey Trial Advocacy Award (formerly ATLA).

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with family, reading, visiting museums, and working on arts and crafts projects. Taking advantage of her experience as a college counselor, she still assists high school students in the college application and financial aid processes.
