Arent Fox LLP Moderators at the World Bribery & Corruption Compliance Forum 2011

Arent Fox attorneys Stephen G. Larson and Peter Unger will serve as moderators at the World Bribery & Corruption Compliance Forum 2011 in London, England, October 5-6. The forum provides in-depth insights from international prosecutors, regulators & industry experts and multi-jurisdictional guidance on avoiding the penalties and risks and cutting the costs of compliance. The forum is targeted to compliance and enforcement officers, white collar crime experts, corporate governance executives, in-house counsel and law enforcement officials. The Arent Fox moderators will lead panel discussions:

Stephen G. Larson is a moderator and a partner of the firm’s White Collar and Investigations Practice Group.

Judge Larson has more than 18 years of trial experience, including serving as Assistant US Attorney in the Criminal Division in Los Angeles, where he led 24 criminal trials and received the US Department of Justice Director’s Award for Superior Performance. A respected and accomplished jurist, he served as a US Magistrate Judge and a US District Court Judge in the Central District of California, where he presided over numerous high-profile cases, including the initial copyright and racketeering lawsuit filed by Mattel against MGA Entertainment. He defends clients in complex litigation and intellectual property matters as well as white collar criminal matters, particularly cases involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, whistleblower actions and other matters. He recently served as counsel to one of the defendants in the FCPA case brought against Lindsey Manufacturing and its principals.

Peter Unger also is a partner in the White Collar and Investigations Practice Group at Arent Fox. Previously, he was an attorney in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement. He concentrates his practice on defending clients in governmental investigations, including actions before the SEC, DOJ, Congress, FINRA (former NASD/NYSE) and state securities regulators. He also conducts and defends internal investigations and independent reviews, defends securities litigation and advises on compliance, crisis management and corporate governance. In addition, Peter defends FCPA investigations, provides FCPA compliance advice and conducts FCPA due diligence of potential agents or business partners worldwide.
