Arent Fox’s Brett Kappel Quoted in Two Washington Times Articles Discussing Presidential Campaign Funding
Arent Fox’s Brett Kappel, counsel in the firm’s Government Relations practice, was quoted in two articles appearing this week in The Washington Times. In an April 11, 2012, article, Brett comments on reports that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., had transferred nearly $9 million in old donations from his 2008 presidential campaign fund to an educational charity. The Washington Times writes:
In the second Washington Times article, published Friday, April 13, Brett discusses issues surrounding funding for President Obama’s travels: “Nobody knows how much the travel has to be paid for by either the Democratic National Committee or the president’s campaign committee, or how they come up with the data, or how long they have to reimburse it after the travel takes place,” said Brett Kappel, a professional on election law at Arent Fox. “It’s a total mystery.” To read the April 11 article, titled “Excess McCain campaign cash goes to charity,” please click here.
