In this complex case for the Arent Fox Appellate practice, the firm represented a group of Arizona landowners in successfully appealing their case to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The court overturned the trial court decision in a precedent-setting opinion for all property owners in the United States who fall victim to federal eminent domain. The appeal enforced the landowners' rights to sue the federal government for compensation when the government takes their property by an agency order. Reported at Ladd v.
