She focuses her practice on patent prosecution in the areas of computer engineering and software. She also has experience has working on IP rights procurement, licensing, litigation, and post-grant proceedings.

*Not admitted in the District of Columbia. Admitted in New York and US Patent and Trademark Office Registration only. Practicing under the supervision of firm principals.

Previous Work

Prior to joining Arent Fox, Allison was an associate with in a mid-size, full-service intellectual property law firm. Before that, she was a patent attorney and patent agent with a New Jersey intellectual property law firm. Allison also served as Senior Law Clerk for the Philadelphia Office of the District Attorney, Division of Economic and Cybercrime, where she performed computer and accounting forensics in addition to her regular law clerk duties. Additionally, she worked as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, examining patent applications directed towards Business Methods involving network and information security, and financial transactions

Professional Activities

Allison is currently the Chair of the American Intellectual Property Association’s (AIPLA) Emerging Technologies Committee. This committee tracks and provides educational programming on emerging technologies across all technical fields.

She also serves as the National Director for the AIPLA’s Giles S. Rich IP Moot Court Competition, a national law school competition held annually at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit

Life Beyond the Law

Allison is deeply committed to supporting entrepreneurship by persons from marginalized backgrounds as well as social entrepreneurship. She has contributed significant pro bono work to business formation, intellectual property acquisition, and contractual agreements for these groups. She has been recognized by both Temple University and the New York State Bar Association for her pro bono contributions
