Casey's practice focuses on cross-border data compliance, evaluation and development of privacy programs and disclosure policies, and contractual review. She is knowledgeable in international (e.g. GDPR, EU-US Privacy Shield), federal, and state privacy laws, as well as anti-spam legislation around the world (e.g. CAN-SPAM, CASL). She continues to review evolving privacy laws to determine how they affect clients’ data privacy programs.

Client Work

Casey assists a wide variety of clients in developing privacy programs that are tailored to the specific company based on its individual needs, size, and data infrastructure. She helps build compliance programs for companies of all sizes, including large, global companies in the food and beverage, tech, and fashion industries. In addition, Casey works with clients on compliance with marketing laws, such as those enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and covered by the EU ePrivacy Directive.

Previous Work

Prior to joining Arent Fox, Casey was privacy counsel at LinkedIn, where she assisted with privacy and data protection matters, including revisions to LinkedIn’s privacy policy, guidelines for cross-border marketing communications, and data protection impact assessments as well as partner and provider contracts and internal privacy training. She also served as a legal intern at the US Department of Homeland Security, Privacy Office where she evaluated DHS programs for compliance with new privacy laws.
