David handles complex civil litigation matters from inception through trial. He has obtained multiple favorable jury verdicts as lead and co-counsel in fraud, misrepresentation, and breach of contract cases, as well as successfully prosecuted and defended trademark counterfeiting and copyright infringement cases in US District Court, including for luxury goods manufacturers and jewelry designers. He has prosecuted novel vicarious and contributory infringement claims and has experience prosecuting trademark applications and defending registered marks before the USPTO and the TTAB. David also has experience with corporate governance disputes and litigation, and experience with financial investigations, including financial services and consumer protection investigations.
Previous Work
David served as a judicial clerk to judges Donald Eyre and Steven Hansen of the Fourth District Court for the State of Utah and later as deputy county counsel for Summit County, Utah. His duties for Summit County included advising the board of county commissioners and the Snyderville Planning Commission — bodies governing land use development near Park City and Deer Valley ski resorts.

David is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, Los Angeles Chapter.

David was named a “Rising Star” by the Southern California edition of Super Lawyers magazine for 2005.
Life Beyond the Law
David was an Academic All-American for the Brigham Young University baseball team, starting at first base for two years. His wife, Lonna Stacey Bayles, was a four-year All-American and National Champion swimmer for the University of Southern California. David and Lonna are the proud parents of six children.
