Jane Reedy, Attorney at Arent Fox

Jane is a real estate “puzzle solver,” attacking title and survey problems that require in-depth review and research. She performs title and survey review for individual residential, commercial properties, and large commercial portfolio transactions. She has worked on a variety of commercial real estate transactions including multi-family and senior living since joining Arent Fox in May 2015.

Previous Work

Jane began her real estate career at 15, when she was an office assistant to a real estate attorney. By the time she graduated high school, she had become the post-closer, assembling closing packages to be returned to lenders. Jane has worked both sides of the real estate world, the settlement side with real estate attorneys and settlement companies and also for a mortgage company.

She has extensive experience as a residential settlement officer and as a title agent, where she developed her title clearing skills. Her experience enables her to be able to effectively communicate complex title and survey matters to buyers, sellers and lenders. Jane advised clients on legal matters concerning the acquisition and disposition of residential real estate at Mid-Atlantic Settlement Services, Champion Title (Kase & Associates) and Key Title (Eskovitz, Lazarus and Pitrelli). She was the manager of Coal Yard Title (Nealon & Associates).

Professional Activities

Jane is a notary public for Virginia. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, Real Property, Probate and Trust Section, and a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, Property Section.

Life Beyond the Law

In her spare time, Jane enjoys reading and musical theater performances. She has been a Girl Scout Troop leader for her daughter’s troop, taking 13 2nd graders camping. She is a volunteer with The Lamb Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
