Richard has almost 40 years of logistics and transportation industry experience advising consumers and providers of logistics and transportation services throughout the supply chain. His clients include cargo owners, shippers and shipper associations, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, motor carriers, freight forwarders, property brokers, customhouse brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries, and warehouse operators, as well as technology companies providing services to the logistics industry. 

Richard represents clients throughout the country, including public and privately held companies as well as individuals, and seeks to provide them with hands-on legal representation ranging from personal advice to general corporate matters to the management of complex litigation. He is a well-versed litigator with extensive experience in commercial disputes and other complex litigation. Richard is often called upon to act as outside general counsel, conferring on all manner of business initiatives with his clients.

Richard devotes a significant portion of his time to representing middle-market companies in a wide range of corporate matters, including financing arrangements, commercial relations and drafting, corporate restructuring, governance, executive compensation, employment policy, and administrative matters. He also represents individuals, including logistics and transportation company owners, providing legal assistance and advice regarding succession planning and shareholder/operating agreements. Richard was previously a Partner at Posternak Blankstein & Lund LLP.

Life Beyond the Law

Richard is an avid supporter of animal rights and welfare and has done legal work on behalf of animal rights organizations, including The Performing Animal Welfare Society and the New England Anti-Vivisection Society. Merging his legal experience with his interest in improving conditions for animals, he has advocated for abused performing and exotic animals and for animals suffering cruelty in research labs.

Richard is also a member of the Coalition of New England Companies for Trade (CONECT), a nonprofit business association for companies involved in international trade and/or transportation, and the Transportation Lawyers Association.
