The Baltimore Sun Talks with Partner Richard Brand about Sports Teams’ Television Rights Fees

Arent Fox Sports partner Richard L. Brand was quoted by The Baltimore Sun in an article about  television rights fees involving the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals.

Both Major League Baseball (MLB) franchises are debating how much of a share or revenue each team should have in the Baltimore-Washington market.

The Sun reported that when the Nationals relocated to Washington, DC, MLB awarded the Orioles control of the regional television network that the two teams now share. But now, the Nationals are demanding a share in television rights fees and are going to court.

Mr. Brand spoke to the Sun about the teams arguing their differences in court. He added that rights fees for the franchises can mean the difference “between a team doing very well or not so well.”
