Federal Appeals Court Upholds Virginia’s Voter-ID Law
On Tuesday, December 13, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit upheld Virginia’s voting rules requiring residents to present photo identification to cast ballots. An Arent Fox team lead by partners Thor Hearne and Dana Finberg represented the Commonwealth of Virginia to defend the state in the voting rights lawsuit.

The Washington Post reported that the appeals court “sided with attorneys representing Virginia election officials who said the state’s requirement for in-person voting is far more flexible than election measures in other states and was not designed to discriminate.”
