Arent Fox Now Accepting Diversity Scholarship Applications

WASHINGTON, DC - Arent Fox LLP is once again accepting applications from second-year law students for its annual $20,000 Diversity Scholarship. In addition, for the first time the firm will be awarding a scholarship and summer associate position for a student in its San Francisco office.

Applications from second-year law students can be submitted on a rolling basis. Four total scholarships will be awarded to one second-year law student for Arent Fox’s Washington, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco offices. Recipients will demonstrate a commitment to practicing law at the highest level and will be expected to participate in the 2018 Summer Program.

“We are once again pleased to make this opportunity available to talented law students who are ready to start a rewarding legal career,” said Chairman Mark M. Katz. “It is our hope that recipients will use the Diversity Scholarship to reduce the financial burden of law school, while receiving invaluable legal training.”

The 2018 Summer Program will last for 10 weeks. The $20,000 scholarship will be paid in two installments: $10,000 during the student’s second-year summer and another $10,000 payable when the student returns to Arent Fox as an associate after graduation.

"The expansion of the Diversity Scholarship to San Francisco reflects the growth of this office and the depth of counsel we provide our clients in Northern California, as well as nationally and internationally" said San Francisco Managing Partner Richard L. Brand. "The San Francisco recipient will have the opportunity to learn from our office's distinctive practices in an environment that embraces diversity."

The Arent Fox Diversity Scholarship Program started in 2006 and is part of the Firm’s commitment to attracting top lawyers from diverse backgrounds. Since its conception, Arent Fox has awarded 34 scholarships from across the country. Winning students have been selected from thousands of compelling applicants.

Interviews for scholarship applicants will be held in August and September.
