Arent Fox Recognized in “2012 Best Law Firm for Women” Rankings
Washington, DC — Arent Fox LLP has once again been named one of the country’s “50 Best Law Firms for Women” by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers. The firm will be featured in Working Mother’s December issue for being “successful in retaining and promoting” women lawyers.
“The firm values a collegial and inclusive workplace that emphasizes diversity and the advancement of women into leadership positions,” said Chairman Mark Katz. “We are very pleased to be recognized once again for making sure Arent Fox continues to be a great place to work.” Arent Fox has been named one of the 50 best law firms for women by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers since 2007.
The recognition by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers is a tangible result of Arent Fox’s inclusive firm culture. In its feature on Arent Fox, Working Mother lauded the firm’s mentoring programs and the opportunity for attorneys to “sit in on high-level client pitch meetings, exchange ideas at networking luncheons and conferences, and take part in gatherings at partners’ homes.”
Working Mother awards the honor to law firms “for their family-friendly policies and business development initiatives that are retaining women and advancing them into the leadership pipeline.” The magazine is widely considered the authoritative source for career mothers, reaching more than two million readers.
The firm’s Women’s Leadership Development Initiative emphasizes the mentoring and training of lawyers to facilitate their development in the profession and their success in the firm. The Initiative’s chair, Barbara Wahl said: “we are delighted that our unique firm culture that prizes the talents and contributions of our women lawyers has again been recognized by Working Mothers magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers.”
