Registration for 2017 East Coast Trade Symposium Opens October 26

Earlier this week, US Customs and Border Protection announced that registration for the 2017 East Coast Trade Symposium will open on Thursday, October 26th at 12:00 pm EST. The East Coast Symposium will be held on December 5-6, 2017 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, GA.
While the agenda for this year’s East Coast Symposium has not yet been released, CBP has noted the following discussion topics:
  • CBP De Minimis (Section 321)
  • Facilitation and Enforcement
  • Interagency Import Safety
  • Western Hemisphere Enforcement Outlook
  • Border Interagency Executive Council
The Symposium typically features a series of high-profile speakers from CBP, as well as perspectives from the private sector. The West Coast Symposium, held in Arizona in May 2017, focused on partnerships between the US government and the private sector, discussing how the government and private sectors are working together on the future of trade.

CBP has not yet announced registration details – the details will likely be published on October 26 on the CBP website. In the past, CBP has limited registrations to three participants per company and the Symposiums sold out quickly. To ensure that you secure a spot at this year’s East Coast Symposium, we recommend that you coordinate attendees with colleagues and be prepared to register as soon as registration opens at 12 PM EST.

Arent Fox’s International Trade group will continue to monitor developments with respect to the 2017 East Coast Trade Symposium and will provide an update when additional information is released.
