Arent Fox Attorneys Teach Graduate Business Course on Legal Aspects of Biotech
Patent Partner Jeff Vockrodt and Life Sciences Counsel Brian J. Malkin are are co-teaching the class “Intellectual Property, Regulation and Compliance for Biotechnology” with guest lecturers from Arent Fox LLP and members of the biotechnology industry. The class is part of a curriculum on advanced topics in pharmacology, biologics, biodevices, clinical trials, biostatistics, and analytics, along with finance, marketing, intellectual property law, and new business development.
Guest lecturers for the course include Arent Fox attorneys Karen Ellis Carr, Alexander H. Spiegler, and Stephanie Trunk, as well as Rose and Associates, LLC Founder and President Lucy Rose, VP Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for Aquestive Therapeutics Rikin Mehta, Mount Sinai IRB Chair for the Program for the Protection of Human Subjects Ilene Wilets, and AgTech Accelerator Director of IP, Regulatory & Product Development Megan Lyman.
Mr. Vockrodt and Mr. Malkin have international practices advising companies on patent and regulatory matters involving chemical and life science technologies. Mr. Vockrodt is a former patent examiner in the United Patent & Trademark Office. Mr. Malkin is a former regulatory counsel at FDA’s Office of the Commissioner and Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.
