Sal emphasized the importance of the merger in fostering diversity and inclusion at the combined firm.

"It was not just about creating a bigger law firm; it was about creating a better one," he said. "We've been embracing the opportunity to learn from each other, share best practices, and, ultimately, create an inclusive and equitable environment for our employees and clients."

Sal highlighted that after the merger, ArentFox Schiff has expanded its DEI affinity groups, including one specifically for attorneys and staff with disabilities. Sal noted that the diversity committee is the largest committee in the firm to represent as many voices as possible.

"We kept a large diversity committee but created a smaller steering committee with members from both firms to examine all of our practices and determine the best practices," he explained. "Through that, we developed a DEI program that combines the best of both firms."
